Sorriso Wine Club

Three Spanish Reds from PRIORAT
A small BUT mighty region from North East Spain showcasing some of the absolute best wine and winemakers from all of Spain!!!

1. Planetes de Nin, Garnatxes en Ampora 2017
First off, I dont like Garnatxe, Garnacha, Grenache, Tinto Aragones, Cannonau by any name no matter what country its planted OR at least I didn’t like it prior to this wine.  This is hands down my favorite 100% percent Garnacha I have ever had.  Even more so, IT IS Completely unadulterated.  Organic, biodynamically farmed, aged in amphora… Its the most garnacha a wine could ever be and I simply love it.  I bought ever single bottle that was left in New England.

2.  Alvaro Palacios “Les Terrasses” Priorat 2018
15 years ago Alvaro switched to only using old vines, there by reducing his yield by over 30% to create a more powerful, expressive and structured blend from Priorat.  The 100% slate fields are worked by mules, land is biodynamically farmed, everything destemmed by hand with long maturation times.  The oak is all used large vats, truly allowing the intensity of the grapes to come through in the wine.  This old vine Priorat is an exceptional expression of both the region and the wine making from a Master.

3.  Ferrer Bobet Priorat 2017
Dollar for Dollar the most complex wine coming out of Priorat.  This wine is low intervention being both unfined and unfiltered.  Coming from a completely Organic Vineyard where the grapes are hand picked and the berries individually sorted. The painstaking effort is lovingly reflected in the evolution of this incredible wine.
